Community and economic engagement is one of the strategic directions in the University of West Florida strategic plan. Much of the University’s work in this area is performed by various centers and institutes on the Pensacola campus and throughout the Northwest Florida region. Each of these Centers provides a unique skill set from the Archaeology Institute's educational, research and service facility, which is the forefront for historic archaeological resources of the Northwest Florida region, to the Small Business Development Center's one-on-one consulting and management training services. The UWF Centers support the UWF campus, as well as those is the surrounding communities.
