Pay Basis: Hourly
The position will assist the community and public relations director's efforts of elevating the Center for Cybersecurity and AI’s local, regional, and national profile and visibility. This will be done primarily through social media and email campaigns, newsletters, press releases, and other outreach methods.
Responsibilities will include:
● Publicity: Utilize information gathered about Center events and news to write web
content, blog posts, social media posts, emails and other various communications.
● Web: Support the Center for Cybersecurity and related web pages. Write engaging
content for web pages to expand visibility and attract prospective partners. Ensure
accuracy and brand consistency and comply with institutional brand standards on all
web content.
● Social Media: Manage and post updates on the Center’s social media outlets
(Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter and YouTube). Generate social media
content as directed that emphasizes the Center's mission and community
involvement.
● Newsletters: Assist with the production of a quarterly newsletter through Constant
Contact that highlights Center activities for the previous three months, including
photos and links to content.
● Content Development: Assist with the design and development of Center
communication materials for events and initiatives (presentations, internal
publications, annual reports, flyers, etc.).
● Photography and Video: Shoot event photography and other photos needed for
the Center, utilizing cell phone or other equipment.
● Perform other duties as required.
This position will work up to 15 hours per week. Rate of pay is $15.00 per hour.
Applicants must be a student enrolled for credit. Applicants may be a student at UWF or any other college, university or high school. A student enrolled at an institution other than UWF must provide proof of attendance by submitting a registration/fee payment receipt from the school they will attend.
The position requires demonstrated success in enhancing visibility via marketing, social
media, and community relations development. The assistant should have strong written
and oral communication skills. Experience with program promotion and marketing via
social media and content development is preferred. Additional experience with print or
digital media, photography, or videography is a plus.
The assistant must be able to assess and manage their workload as directed. Excellent
time management and organizational skills are essential.
