Salary Range:  $15 - $15.50 per hour

POSITION OVERVIEW

JOB SUMMARY:

Position interacts with the public on a daily basis and requires excellent customer service skills. The primary job responsibility is to facilitate learning through play at the Pensacola Children’s Museum. Position is responsible for developing and/or delivering educational programming to visitors to the Museum. Position is up to 29 hours per week with shifts from 9:30-4:15, Tuesday through Saturday. Playologist will provide the facilitation of play throughout the museum’s exhibits when not offering programs and presentations. Assist with daily cleaning of the museum exhibits and Party Space. Responsible for the preparation and storage of program materials. Assists with birthday parties. Ability to work with a variety of ages and abilities. Must be self-motivated, energetic and creative.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Previous experience with developing and delivering educational programs. Previous experience working with children in informal education is a plus. Appreciates the value of the power of play. Enthusiastic about working in a children’s museum. Creates a positive environment for visitors and staff. Able to speak effectively to the public to groups up to 25 people.
