POSITION OVERVIEW

JOB SUMMARY:

Will be responsible for providing technical support, design, development, testing, implementation and maintenance of applicable IT systems to promote and support operational efficiency. This position will also develop metrics to report on the use and performance of these electronic processes.

In addition, this Developer position requires the employee to participate in university Internet and Intranet projects, analyze requirements, and design/develop dynamic Web-based solutions. The employee will coordinate with a wide variety of customers with varying levels of Web design experience. The job requires that the employee be forward looking in evaluating new technologies for applicability to UWF Web sites and be able to conform and assist with evolving UWF Web design standards.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Broad job knowledge typically obtained through professional entry-level certifications/credentials, advanced education or 1 year of work experience in a systems support role.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Working knowledge of client operating systems, particularly Microsoft Windows, with the ability to install, configure, troubleshoot, and support desktop and laptop environments. Experience with enterprise endpoint management solutions, such as Microsoft Intune and Microsoft Configuration Manager (formerly SCCM), including software deployment, device provisioning, patch management, and endpoint inventory. Working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy, Microsoft Entra ID, Windows Autopilot, and fundamental networking concepts. Familiarity with PowerShell scripting for automation and systems administration. Understanding of endpoint security best practices, including device hardening, encryption, antivirus/endpoint protection, and compliance policies. Ability to communicate effectively with technical staff and end users while working collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Experience supporting Microsoft Windows desktop operating systems in an enterprise environment. Experience supporting Windows endpoints, mobile device management (MDM) concepts, Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, Group Policy, and PowerShell scripting. Familiarity with endpoint security technologies and modern device management practices. Two (2) years of professional experience supporting enterprise endpoint management solutions is preferred.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES:
  • 50% - Provides administration, monitoring, and support of enterprise applications, systems, and infrastructure. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting with requirements gathering, systems analysis, implementation, testing, maintenance, security, documentation, end user support, and deployment activities. Supports the management and operation of enterprise endpoint technologies, including Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Configuration Manager (formerly SCCM), Jamf, Active Directory, patch management, software deployment, and other endpoint management solutions. Assists with maintaining policies, procedures, and technical documentation related to systems and infrastructure while staying informed of emerging technologies and industry best practices. Works collaboratively with senior systems engineers, developers, Local Support Providers (LSPs), and other ITS staff to troubleshoot issues, complete assigned projects, and provide technical support and training as needed. Performs assigned tasks with increasing independence while following established standards and procedures. Assists with maintaining systems in compliance with university and departmental policies. - (Essential)
  • 15% - Participate in the Security Incident Response Team and collaborate with other ITS teams on projects and initiatives to improve business operations related to endpoint services. Monitor, track, and follow up on endpoint-related escalations across campus, working with appropriate technical teams and stakeholders to ensure issues are addressed in a timely manner. Perform additional related duties as assigned and maintain availability for after-hours support as required. - (Essential)
  • 10% - Maintain strong working relationships with Local Support Providers (LSPs) to understand how endpoint management tools, including Microsoft Configuration Manager (formerly SCCM), Jamf, and Intune, support their work. Gather feedback, provide guidance and training as needed, and identify opportunities to improve tools, processes, and documentation. Support consistent adoption of endpoint management best practices across campus. - (Essential)
  • 10% - Respond to and resolve IT service requests related to endpoints through phone, email, online, or on-site support. Document troubleshooting steps and maintain the knowledge base to ensure clear, updated solutions are available to LSPs and other ITS staff. Escalate unresolved issues when appropriate and follow up to ensure timely resolution. - (Essential)
  • 10% - Participate in endpoint-related projects, system upgrades, and technology implementations. Assist with testing, evaluating, documenting, and deploying new endpoint management solutions and process improvements. Identify opportunities to automate routine administrative tasks using PowerShell or other scripting tools. - (Essential)
  • 5% - Collaborate with other ITS teams on projects and initiatives to improve business operations related to endpoint services. Perform additional related duties as assigned and maintain availability for after-hours support as required. - (Essential)
