POSITION OVERVIEW

JOB SUMMARY:

The Campus Activities Coordinator serves as the primary advisor for the Campus Activity Board (CAB). This position oversees program planning and event management to support student engagement and a vibrant campus community. The Coordinator manages program operations, budgeting, and implementation to support effective and sustainable programming.

All Student Engagement employees will assist with additional Student Engagement department-wide initiatives as assigned, which may include but are not limited to: Argo Arrival/Spring It On, FSL Recruitment, Homecoming, CAB Events, CAB After Dark, Family Weekend, Football Tailgates, Student Leadership Awards, student organization workshops, community service activities, committee assignments, etc.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization. Four years of direct experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience with event planning, student programming, or campus involvement. Demonstrated organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple events or tasks simultaneously. Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills. Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed to support campus programs and events.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience advising student organizations, leadership groups, or programming boards. Experience planning campus events, large-scale programs, or student engagement initiatives. Familiarity with budget tracking, event logistics, and campus event management systems. Experience in assessing and evaluating programs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES:
  • 60% - Serves as the primary advisor and supervises the Campus Activity Board (CAB) and its student leaders. Oversees student programming initiatives, implementation of campus event experiences, and event promotion. Develops training and engagement pipelines that support student leadership growth, organizational sustainability, and effective program execution. Coordinates large-scale, in-person campus events, upholding professional standards in logistics, risk management, vendor coordination, marketing integration, and on-site execution. Provides regular evaluations to student leaders and assess programs success. - (Essential)
  • 20% - Manage CAB spaces, resources, and operational systems to ensure responsible stewardship and asset longevity. Manage financial budgets related to campus programming and advocate for additional resources when necessary. - (Essential)
  • 10% - Cultivate meaningful collaborations with campus partners and student organizations to advance student engagement initiatives. Contribute to divisional collaboration efforts that strengthen cross-campus relationships and enhance the overall student experience. - (Essential)
  • 5% - Serve on University committees, task forces, and teams as assigned. Represents Student Engagement, the Division, and/or the University at/on local, state, regional, and/or national events/committees. - (Essential)
  • 5% - Other duties as assigned. - (Essential)
