The Office of International Affairs is seeking qualified ESOL Instructors (Adjunct) to teach English as a second language in Reading, Grammar, Listening & Speaking, and Writing to non-English speakers enrolled in the Community English Program. This position requires a bi-weekly timesheet submission of hours worked. Community English Program classes are Monday - Thursday from 6:00 pm - 7:30pm. Applications are also accepted for qualified applicants to serve from time to time as substitute instructors.
The Office of International Affairs is building a pool of Community English Instructors (Adjunct), CEC Instructors (Adjunct) and IEP Instructors (Adjunct) for teaching opportunities for upcoming semesters. Application will be accepted on an on-going basis. Your application will be reviewed by the hiring official in the department.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Holds at least the master's degree in an appropriate specialization or the equivalent qualifications based on professional experience and is otherwise qualified to perform assigned duties. The appointee may engage in teaching, scholarship and creative projects, and/or service and other related activities, but is not eligible for tenure.
Master’s degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate field of
specialization or equivalent qualifications based on professional experience and otherwise qualified to perform assigned duties.
Master’s degree in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) or a related field, but will consider a Bachelor’s degree in TESL or a related field and two years language teaching experience in an accredited college or university. Additional requirements include ability to use Microsoft Office applications, effective oral and written communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills.
