POSITION OVERVIEW

JOB SUMMARY:

Position is responsible for the site-wide cleaning of the Historic Trust downtown buildings. The duties include developing an efficient cleaning schedule; deodorizing and disinfecting public restrooms; cleaning carpet, bare floors, and other flooring surfaces; general dusting; window cleaning; trash removal; and the upkeep and organization of cleaning supply and cleaning equipment.

Position is in the Maintenance Department and will work as part of a team to clean and maintain the interiors of the museums, offices, and workspaces at the Historic Trust to a presentable and safe standard for the public.

Position is 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday, with preferred hours from 6am - 2:30pm. The schedule can be adjusted, and additional hours may be available.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Completion of the ninth grade.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience in commercial or professional custodial cleaning. Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, familiarity with cleaning products, and experience with cleaning equipment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Ability to read and write. High school. Some college; vocational or associates degree.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES:
  • 70% - Clean 30 restrooms, 88,000 sq. ft. floor area, mop, dust, vacuum, sweep, empty trash, order supplies, and maintain cleaning equipment - (Essential)
  • 10% - Emergency clean-ups from accidents by the public, special daytime events, and high attendance days - (Essential)
  • 10% - Perform monthly inventories so cleaning supplies are on hand at all times; ensure all cleaning equipment is working properly; and storage/custodial rooms are organized. - (Essential)
  • 10% - Additional areas may open to the public as exhibits and internal uses change, which will require cleaning attention while they are accessible to the public and staff. - (Essential)
