The Department of Health Sciences and Administration at the University of West Florida (UWF) invites applications for a full-time, 9-month Assistant Professor of Clinical Practice in Healthcare Administration, starting on August 8, 2026. This position emphasizes excellence in teaching and student success, with opportunities to teach in both the undergraduate Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences (B.S.H.S.) and the graduate Master of Healthcare Administration (M.H.A.) programs.
The successful candidate will teach core courses in healthcare administration, healthcare law and policy, quality improvement, health informatics, health economics, or healthcare finance, depending on expertise. Responsibilities include teaching (4/4 load), contributing to program and curriculum development (including accreditation activities), engaging in service to the university and community, and mentoring students in the M.H.A. program.
UWF offers a collaborative, student-first environment that prioritizes teaching innovation and work-life balance, with well-developed online courses and opportunities for compensated summer teaching. Salary is commensurate with experience.
The Department prepares nearly 500 students for leadership roles in healthcare through high-quality, online undergraduate and graduate programs, including the M.H.A., which is currently in candidacy for accreditation by Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME).
Earned doctoral degree (DHA, PhD, DBA, DHS, or other relevant terminal degree) in healthcare administration, health sciences, or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution.
• One year or more experience teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate level.
• Ability to design and develop online courses, incorporating innovative, student-centered teaching practices.
• One year or more of professional experience in healthcare administration, leadership, or related roles that informs teaching and student mentorship.
• Evidence of commitment to student success, professional service, and community engagement.
• Familiarity with accreditation processes (e.g., CAHME or related bodies) and ability to contribute to program quality improvement and accreditation readiness.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and collegiality in working with faculty, staff, students, and external partners.
